The Commission Against Corruption of the Macau was established with the Special Administrative Region in 1999 after China resumes sovereignty, pursuant to article 59 of the its Basic Law and modelled after the Independent Commission Against Corruption of Hong Kong.

The CCAC replaced the High Commission Against Corruption and Administrative Illegality created in 1990 and began operations in 1992.

High Commissioner Against Corruption and Administrative Illegality

HCACAI was appointed by the Governor of Macau.

Commissioners Against Corruption of Macau

The head of the CCAC is appointed by the Chief Executive of Macau.

Deputy Commissioners Against Corruption of Macau

After 17 years, Macau has an official agency to tackled the concerns over corruption and links to the territory's casinos.
